In our sixth annual Christmas episode, we once again do a year in review for 2020. This was definitely a unique year in life and the 40K hobby, and real life for the first time had a big impact on the game. We cover the major events and releases for 40K and discuss the state of the hobby as we near the end of 2020. We also talk about looking ahead to next year and hoping we can get back to playing again!

Major Events from 2020

January

• The Psychic Awakening series continues!
• Ritual of the Damned, for Grey Knights it made them a really good army. Thousand sons and Dark Angels also included.

Las Vegas Open 2020

February

• New Psychic Awakening: the Greater good; Tau and Genestealer Cults.
• Adeptus Sororitas releases.

March

• COVID hits the US. We went into lockdown in March.
• GW also goes into lockdown, and that is the end of the new releases for a while.
• Adepticon is cancelled.
• GW does its first Twitch stream Preview.

April

• Saga of the Beast, with a new Ragnar and Ghazghul model in a boxed set; Prophecy of the Wolf.

May

• Psychic Awakening: Engine War, new Ad Mech rules, Knights, and greater Daemons.
• Ad mech models; Flyers, Pteraxi, Hounds. This helps to round out the army and make Ad Mec a more complete faction to collect and play.

June

• War of the Spider, Death Guard, Fabius Bile, new model. Custodes, Sisters of Silence, Assassins.

July

• Last Psychic Awakening: Pariah. Inquisition, some characters and Theaters of War.
• New edition of 40K! Probably a month later than they hoped, but it is here.
• Indomitus Box is legit the best box they have ever released, by far.

August

• Necrons getting a complete model line redo is huge!
• Marines get a lot of new models as well.

September

• Podcast is put on hold.

The new 40K App

October

• New Marine and Necron Codexes.

November

• New Forgeworld Book
• Space Wolves and Blood Angels and Deathwatch supplements.
• Tabletop Simulator, looking to finally try this out and get in weekly games.

December

• New Battleforce Boxes, classic December releases.

Events

• With the cancellation of most major events, we have seen smaller events in different countries throughout the year.

FAQs

• We have not seen any major FAQs that are game balancers as we did in 8th.
