Oftentimes, we set ourselves up to be the weak link in our funding requests because we fail to consider that who we are and our mission is just as important as the solution we are trying to create. That’s why episode 108 of the Melanin & Medicine Podcast is about investors are not just investing in your solution, they are investing in you!

The 2021 Funding Your Healthcare Vision Summit is a one-day event that will highlight and create perspective for Black women in healthcare to get funding to create profitable, purpose-led & uniquely funded businesses or practices that are uniquely designed to provide equity for underserved Black and Brown populations.

Instead of sitting on an idea wondering if it’ll be profitable, you leave with the confidence and the proven concept needed to create a stream of income that will allow you to complement or replace your income as a physician.

In this episode of the Melanin & Medicine Podcast, I’m sharing the importance of establishing your why behind the solution you are trying to create in order to show investors that your request is a natural extension of your organization.

What You’ll Learn From This Episode:

  • Why you are the most important factor in your funding request.
  • How seeking funding can actually make you a better business person.
  • What rap and hip hop have to do with seeking funding.
  • The 3 questions to consider before starting the journey of asking for funding.

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on empowering Black women in medicine and academia to find their purpose and achieve their vision.
