In this episode, we talk with 20 year veteran business owner Stacy Monroe of Stacy Monroe Salon in Castro Valley California. Stacy has owned her own salon since 1994. She opened a Spa in 2000, and recently sold the Spa to a lovely lady who has worked in the Spa as long as it has been open. Stacy has recently been published in a book entitled "Business Success with Ease" and She has added a new service to her plate recently: a teacher and mentor for people in the Hair Styling and Beauty Salon industry.

I've invited Stacy here today because she and her story is an inspiration to entrepreneurs, especially those of us who are building our businesses and sometimes doubt that we are on the right path or that maybe we cant make this goal. Stacy, you've got a lot of great things planned for this next year and your life is just bursting with success. But from what I understand, it wasn't always like that! Mindset Reset Journey

Recently I have noticed all of my mentors are talking about shifting the way we view ourselves, our lifes can make the difference from a successful balanced business life and one of failure. During the summer of 2015, I went on a 40 day mindset reset and it has changed my life around and my business is starting to turn around because of it. What I realized in those 40days is how much the thoughts in my head were self doubting, you aren't good enough, too old, too fat, too shy too everything. With all that banter going on day and night, how could anyone feel good about themselves. In the 40 days of recognizing and shifting my thoughts to more action positive thoughts, I noticed everything in my life started to come back to life. I didn't even know I was burned out and depressed. During the 40 days, this radio podcast was born.Stacy speaks to her experience of growing a business from the ground up and becoming very successful to going through a burnout period and how she was able to turn her mindset around.

Stacy Monroe started out as a teenage mom at the age of 16. Built a successful business over 25 years. Got burned out and found your way back to getting your business back on it's feet. You are now a published author in the book "Building Business with ease" You are now creating a mentoring business,she tells us a bit about her upcoming programs and launching this year.

Visualization Techniques

In your book you describe what you did to become unstuck: "I began to visualize the kind of salon for which I wanted to be known. I imagined myself working in it. I made a list of every detail—the sounds, the clientele, the products, the sales, the staff, the tone, the buzz. I described how we all felt working there, together as a team again."
