One of the most important decisions of any experiential activation is the location. A venue can make or break the experience, so it’s definitely not something I take lightly. Needless to say, when I encounter a venue that truly elevates our experience, I certainly know to remember it and will often book it again!
That brings me to this week’s episode with Michael Grova, founder and owner of Mission Loft, an interior design firm and property management company. I’ve worked with Michael several times to host events at his gorgeous San Francisco venues. From the thoughtful design to attention to detail, Michael's venues are unlike anything else out there.
And I’m not the only fan of Michael’s work. As a designer, his list of clients include names such as Airbnb, Gap, Sephora, Lululemon, Walmart, Visa, Netflix and many others. He is known for his unique interiors that feature the use of natural timeless materials and the principles of design thinking. Michael and his Mission Loft team of 5 part-time staff host 20 to 30 events a month at their two San Francisco locations. There’s a very good chance you’ve seen one of Michael’s Mission Loft properties on your Instagram feed!
In this episode, Michael shares how he got started with building his interior design firm, his approach to designing environments, and his thoughts on creative entrepreneurship in the post-COVID world. This episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to understand how environments are tied to the experiences we seek to create.
