***Quiet Quitting or Inflation Adjusted Effort***
How much of your life are you willing to trade for money?
The Great Resignation has morphed into Quiet Quitting or Inflation Adjusted Effort. Instead of just telling the boss "Take this job and shove it" one simply lowers the amount of effort or hours put in. I saw this article on CNBC where Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank says it's a bad idea because he only wants to hire people that will work 25 hours a day 8 days a week. Kind of sound like he wants to OWN his employees. He effectively said the quite part out loud and if you've worked for a large company long enough to experience you know this:
They will take anything and everything you will give.
This is your life. When you're an employee you trade your time for money. Your time is your life. It's not to say that money isn't important, it's just putting it within context. Your time is only worth whatever you determine it's worth. No one else decides that. YOU decide that and communicate that to the word.
Would you rather put in more hours? Or put in more connection with yourself so you can better communicate the value you bring to others? I'm sure we've all been around people that are very "busy" but don't get much done, and in fact just create more problems than they solve.
This episode is really about owning your value and how to do that.
