2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (ESV)
11 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today, we are continuing the series titled INCREASE ASSURANCE based on the books of 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. In the first chapter of 2 Thessalonians, Paul speaks to the Church about their relationship with God, as their Father and with Jesus, as their Lord. He also speaks to them about how they are to grow in the walk with Christ. Finally, he concludes by telling the church about the afflictions and persecutions they are going and makes the church aware that it is part of their Journey through and that there is “light at the end of the tunnel.” That light is Heaven at the end. Join us this Sunday as we learn how to prepare for Heaven at the end.
1. DO YOU HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?
a. IS GOD your father and Jesus your Lord?
b. IS THE HOLY SPIRIT witnessing within you?
2. ARE YOU GROWING IN CHRIST?
a. IS YOUR FAITH in God growing?
b. IS YOUR LOVE for believers growing?
c. IS YOUR DESIRE for righteousness growing?
3. ARE YOU STEADFAST UNDER AFFLICTION AND PERSECUTION?
HOW DO YOU REMAIN STEADFAST IN AFFLICTION TO THE END?
a. UNDERSTAND THAT God will punish those who afflict you.
b. UNDERSTAND THAT unbelievers will suffer forever in hell
c. UNDERSTAND THAT believers will be glorified in Christ
