Back Porch Bluegrass

This whole programme is a tribute to the late Bill Emerson, who influenced my own playing more than any other banjo player. Throughout his long career, he played in many groups, to each adding his own significant stylings on the banjo, and influenced a whole generation of musicians (me included) with his playing and selection of songs. Over the years, I have accumulated many vinyl albums and several CD’s of his various ensembles, and it was difficult to choose which tracks to play to best illustrate the talents of Mr Bill Emerson.
