Black Women and Infertility
Manage episode 345513567 series 3398083
Do you or someone you know suffer from infertility/fertility struggles? Statistics show that 1 in 8 people are infertile in the United States. For Black women, we are least likely to seek help due to a lack of resources, financial costs, or the taboo nature of infertility. But why would we get help in a country that has traumatized us for the sake of modern day medicine?
Monique shares her story of infertility diagnosis and IVF treatments.
What you'll learn in this episode:
The diagnosis of right Fallopian tube blockage, IUI (intrauterine insemination), hypothyroid disease, uterine polyps, IVF (invitro fertilization), and the early birth of Monique's son.
