Episode 120 - YouTube Beef, Gravel World Champs, and Tire Talk w/ Tyler Pearce (aka VC Adventures / The Vegan Cyclist)
What up party people. I’m going to be completely honest here, I really had no idea who The Vegan Cyclist was until he started some good old fashioned beef with Dizzle in his Dustbowl 100 video and even after that I still didn’t know his real name was Tyler Pearce until the night before recording this episode.
But hey, I give the guy some serious props for agreeing to come on the show this week and checking his ego at the door. Tyler came into this conversation with not only an open mind but also open arms willing to accept Dizzle and his sometimes brash persona despite all the controversy that was sparked.
Dylan and I mostly sit back and let the two YouTube frenemies clear the air on what really happened during their interaction at the Dust Bowl 100 before we all dive into some conversation on a few topics like Gravel World Champs, tires, marginal gains, and future projects VC is working up.
Oh yeah, and if you came this week hoping I would share my latest tire test results comparing DJs beloved Race Kings to the Keegans sought after Aspen ST, I unfortunately was not able to complete the testing project prior to recording since we had to move our recording session forward a day but I’ll post some of my preliminary findings on the socials at some point this week and leave the conversation for another episode.
If you have any questions or feedback for the show you can drop us a note at bonkbrospodcast@gmail.com or hit up the Bonk Bros instagram page (@bonkbros @dylanjawnson @adamsaban6 @tylerclouti @raddaddizzle @scottmcgilljr).
Shout out to our presenting sponsor Silca for having our back on yet another whirlwind Bonk Bros episode. As Dylan mentions later in the show, one of Silca’s best kept secret products is actually one of their free resources offered to the public which is their tire pressure calculator. So next time you’re going to air up those mountain bike tires on your gravel bike, make sure to head over to their site to reference a starting point for dialing in those PSIs and should you also pick up something swanky while you’re at it, use the discount code “bonkbrosbonus5” when checking out.
