At his lowest point Job felt like there was no comfort or escape from his dire situation, and we do not need to experience all he did to feel hopeless. Bildad accused Job of maligning God's justice and questioned the sincerity of Job's repentance. Because God is merciful and powerful He chose to redeem sinners, and thus there remained hope for Job and us even when we cannot see it.
