Put on your jammies and turn out the lights because this week, we're raising our glasses to the second best thing you can do in bed (the first being drinking wine, of course). We talk about the science of sleep, some historic sleepers, and those who dare to dream in this week's episode.

This episode's wine: 2012 Oak Ridge Winery Zinfandel Ancient Vine Reserve, California

This episode's cheese: Capricho de Cabra & Bucheron (Montchevré)

We get worried that James is no longer allowed to buy wine, but he does find cheese from a region we think is 'Murica at first. And, if you're part of the goat cheese industry, Emily has quite the tagline for you!

We find out how our ancestors probably slept, despite not having white noise machines or special mattresses. We also wonder what people actually do with fresh air.

James talks about inventors, scientists and pop culture figures who have made advances in their fields because of their dreams. Also, feel free to watch the .GIF that fascinated Emily for about 20 minutes. She also comes up with three puns in a row! Possibly a personal best.

We talk etymology, Greek and Roman deities of sleep, and Michael Stipe, of course. And we get into theological discussions about dreams from the bible. Emily also goes into her Broadway knowledge, somehow.

After 26 episodes, Emily finally introduces us to her hatred of Disney. (Thank you to Music for Makers for the rant music!) Needless to say, we may never have a Cheers to Disney. Sorry.

James changes gears to talk about theories of why we sleep, and why pulling an all-nighter is actually worse for studying than getting some sleep.

Do you have any of the most common nightmares? Do you agree with James' skepticism about analyzing what these dreams mean? We'd love to hear from you!

Emily shares a tip for getting yourself out of a nightmare. And, lucky for you, we cut out a lot of our conversations about dreams we've had, since there are many out there who do not care about hearing the dreams of others.

We find out about what our brain is doing when we're dreaming, including going into the mode of "fighting or flighting," according to James. We also share some tips for falling asleep (hint, it doesn't involve counting sheep).
