We find out different terms regarding wine, like "clippings," "master somm," and "oak-aged." We also get confirmation on a theory we already have: Pinot Noir is a good starter wine (and also the most awesome red, in our opinion). In addition, we learn about a new wine we had never heard of, Verdejo.
James also finds some tips for the optimal conditions for wine tasting ... you know, when you actually want to appreciate the wine, not just drink it after a hard day at work. He also discusses his future plans to age jailhouse wine, and Emily talks about the latitude where wine thrives the best. Who knew that 8 a.m. geography class she was half-asleep for in college would come in handy?!
Shoutout to @wineesquire on twitter, who we've discussed trying to find a good Oregon wine.
Also, if you're from Oregon, we've tried pronouncing your state, but we always feel we get it wrong. Please feel free to let us know the correct way. OR-reh-gon? OR-gahn? OR-gan?
We also recommend you find a great wine store in your area so you can learn more about wine -- not just from us, who depend heavily on Google.
And, we hope you catch our reference to "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" at the end!
Tune in every #WineWednesday for a new episode! Cheers!
