I've recently come across a book by Anthony De Mello called, "Stop Fixing Yourself: Wake Up, All is Well", and it is the perfect read for where I'm at in this moment. I feel as though the past few years have been filled with seminars, group coaching, 1:1 coaching, books on books, podcasts, etc. all focused around trying to 'change' myself into the best version of me. As of recent, I've realized while all those activities were helpful and served a purpose, I didn't necessarily need them. The idea that we need to change or be fixed is the reason why we feel lost, constantly seeking and not finding. If we could redirect our thoughts to see ourselves like a flower, tree or star, that never questions it's worth, how differently would we be able to show up in this world? What peace would fall over us knowing that we didn't have to get anywhere, or become anything before we could find happiness? In his book he states:

"The rose has a gift that you lack: It is perfectly content to be itself. It has not been programmed from birth, as you have been, to be dissatisfied with itself, so it doesn't have the slightest urge to be anything other than what it is. It possesses the artless grace and absence of inner conflict that among humans is only found in little children and mystics. Only the adult human being is able to be one thing and pretend to be another"

In today's episode, I talk about becoming the observer to your thoughts, releasing attachment, and accepting ourselves and each moment for exactly what it is. My hope is that you find grace in these words, and perhaps even let yourself off the hook, allowing you to just be you, exactly as you are. Enjoy!
