In Episode 089, Don and Derek speak with Sara De Luca on body composition, nutrition and all of the assessments around the process of transforming your body composition for the better. The initial focus of the conversation is on nutrition and the foods that can create challenges for people when it comes to overall health and body composition. The conversation then transitions into methods of testing and assessment to determine accurate fat composition, bone density, metabolic rate and lung capacity before setting a client on the path to better health and fitness. The right combination of diet, exercise and recovery are all discussed in depth with Sara.
Sara De Luca is a registered Dietitian & Personal Trainer in New York City. Sara successfully completed my undergraduate and Dietetic Internship programs at CUNY Queens College in Flushing, NY. She is currently the Campus Dietitian & Sports Nutritionist for Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY, as well as in Private Practice via tele-health services. Sara also works as a free-lance food and nutrition writer for various media outlets including Eat This, Not That!, INSIDER and Prevention magazines. Her community, clinical and sports dietetics experience allow her to provide my clients with personalized nutrition education & guidance that is engaging, yet practical. She believes that food is, indeed, fuel to support the body, but is also something that should be enjoyed! As a passionate group fitness instructor, personal trainer, former athlete, and enthusiastic home cook, Sara strongly promotes a philosophy of balance in her own lifestyle, as well as in her work with others.
