Coming straight out of the “Boogie Down” aka The Bronx, DJ SlickVic knows how to take control of the crowd. Ever since the 5th grade, he was intrigued by how beats and words created different sounds to what we know as music. His inspiration came from everywhere. Whether he was listening to music, watching a movie, playing video games or simply meditating. He loves the evolution of music and the way you can manipulate it by turning 1950’s disco music into a current track. Loves to connect the dots from genre to genre while continuously looking to blend and mix tracks that have a relation. At the age of 14, DJ SlickVic followed the footsteps of his uncle and cousin who had an internet radio show. He was soon rocking on the 1’s and 2’s live on the show within weeks as the passion for this new instrument became stronger. Spinning at his 1st club at the age 16 was when his love for craft grew into something different. He found himself in front of a crowd of over 1,000 people who were moving to sounds of tracks that he was selecting, as he dug into his music library he realized this wasn’t just him playing song to song – this was a performance! Though he loves playing in nightclubs and private events, he also enjoys putting out mixes for his fans. Has always enjoyed getting the crowd involved, as that is what differentiates a DJ that plays for the people. Being from New York meant being on your “A” game due to competition; which meant that he was always looking for something new and fresh to separate him from the rest. In the future, his goal is to DJ all over the world. In the meantime, he would like to work with different musicians, as he likes to be innovative to create a different vibe.
