In today's episode, I look at the second agreement from Don Miguel Ruiz's book, "The Four Agreements." The second agreement is "Don't take anything personally."
Ruiz states that nothing others say or do is because of you, it is just a projection of their own reality or dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be a victim of needless suffering. The importance of not taking anything personally also applies to our own thoughts and judgments about ourselves.
To break from this, it is recommended to take inventory of your judgments about others and yourself and ask yourself if those judgments are worth taking in.
My takeaway for today is to remember to not take anything personally and to be responsible only for yourself.
In tomorrow's show, we will be discussing the third agreement, "Don't make assumptions."
