A multi-award-winning voiceover artist, I spent the first half of my career working for the BBC across TV & Radio, introducing programmes, reading the news & pressing lots of beautiful buttons, putting programmes and channels to air.

Since 2006, I've been voicing from my own little broadcast quality studio for major brands through to SME's & small businesses worldwide, from Mercedes to Ocado, Bosch to Astra Zeneca.

You may have heard me on the radio, telly, online, teaching you anything from how an air conditioning system works, to how to inject insulin; in shops, when you're put on hold (sorry about that); in a museum, the list goes on...In fact, there's no escape!

Words are my business. It's never 'just talking'.

• Perhaps I wouldn't have paid so much attention to words & their power if I hadn't been taught to write by hand. Our brains perceive patterns before we've even processed them & mine soaked them up as I spread that ink across the page, enjoying the shapes it made and the meaning behind those shapes.
  
• Being able to write, means that I appreciate the words of others. I can delve deep & feel what they're saying. And that enables me to do my job.
  
• I always think you can tell a lot from the way someone writes. Not just the words they choose, but the roundness, the loops and curls of their handwriting. The amount of space it takes up on the page.
  
• There's a difference between words that are written to be read & those that are written to be spoken and there is joy in both.
  
• Typing is great, it's quick, it's easy to erase mistakes. But there's something very special about a handwritten letter. It's of the person. They've pressed the ink into the page with their pen, there is an energy preserved in that ink that just doesn't translate through the keyboard.
  
• Ideas can be scribbled quickly & furiously onto a page, scripts can be marked up & documents signed.
  
• Being taught to write is a passport to the world.
