A key former New Zealand First MP is confident a High Court case won't handicap the party's comeback.
Leader Winston Peters signalled the party's return with a scathing speech targeting the Government at an Annual General Meeting yesterday.
But New Zealand First is still under fire from the Serious Fraud Office - which has charged two people over allegations of improper donations.
Peter's right-hand-man Shane Jones told Heather du Plessis-Allan he doesn't want to read anything into the judicial tea leaves.
"We were irked about the timing of the prosecution decision. However, we went to court, and they admitted those no sitting MPs or parliamentary wing were embroiled in it."
