Her Path to Purpose

Brittany Rhodes is the Founder and General Math-ager of Black Girl MATHgic, the first and only monthly subscription box curated to increase math confidence and decrease math anxiety in girls on a 3rd-8th grade math skill level.

Brittany shares how her journey began with her own love of math which inspired her to help people struggling in the subject she loved so much. Her tutoring experience began in college and continued for over a decade after college as she worked for non-profits during the day.
During those years, Brittany noticed the self-deprecating, self-defeating language girls used about math. She became committed to humanizing mathematics and helping it connect with students

Her now-husband introduced her to subscription boxes in 2015 when they were still new and eventually Black Girl MATHgic was born.

Despite not having a burning desire to be an entrepreneur, she DID have a deep desire to help students with math on a larger scale than she could with one on one tutoring.
