Many people consider onboarding complete when an employee fills out their new hire paperwork and attends an orientation session. But it’s not an “event” that can be checked off within the employee’s first week. It’s a process that takes many months, and should aid the new employee with learning their job and work expectations, navigating the workplace, understanding the organization’s culture, and connecting with colleagues.
