Jesus has the words of eternal life. Joh 6:66-69 Jesus is the only one qualified to define eternal life because He IS eternal life. 1Jo 5:11-12 He IS the way, the truth, and THE LIFE ( Joh 14:6 ). He IS the resurrection and the LIFE ( Joh 11:25 ). In Him WAS ( is and will always be) life. ( Joh 1:4 ) This IS eternal life - that they may come to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. God's glory is bound up in Jesus giving eternal life to those whom God gave Him. We may have our own ideas about what eternal life is.
