Mark’s First Steps Into Affiliate Marketing

Mark started his career in affiliate marketing in 2005, about the same time which Matt began his career in affiliate marketing. Mark’s first forays were mainly based on Pay Per Click (PPC) and Cost Per Action (CPA) models.

From there he moved onto building tools for himself and other affiliate marketers to make the process easier. This led to him creating Offervault.com, a place where marketers can check all the affiliate offers available to them so they can achieve the best results. He also created another site called Offermobi.com, but this site was sold in 2012.

It is now Offervault.com which makes up the core part of his business.

Matt has been aware of Mark since those early days. Matt states in the podcast that Mark was always successful and it is no surprise to him that he figured out how to add value by logging into every affiliate network and then grouping them all together. According to Matt this has really levelled the affiliate marketing playing field.

Mark states marketing funnels, which are a sales path you introduce and process a customer through, are an important internet marketing topic. The idea behind them is that as you move the customer further down the funnel you introduce them to more expensive products.

Mark also explains about split testing. He never releases anything without doing split testing and, in the podcast, shares the tool that he uses to support this aspect of his business.
