Elise’s 14 years of experience as an attorney has equipped her to speak and write on business development and career acceleration. She is also the host of The Lawyer’s Edge Podcast, a resource for industry professionals looking to scale their businesses. Before founding the firm, Elise practiced law with commercial real estate firms Fried Frank and Morgan Lewis.

So how does a shy, inexperienced counselor promote themselves and their firm?

According to experienced attorney Elise Holtzman, law schools’ inadequacy to teach pertinent business skills puts law graduates at a disadvantage. She recommends junior lawyers attend business development training to learn how to build relationships, become visible experts, and focus on the three pillars of business development: thoughts, time, and team. By design, business development helps inexperienced counselors overcome challenges, advance their careers, and stimulate business.
