This Kevin Derek project provides a look at the iconic and beloved Japanese-American actor and comedian who brought The Karate Kid's central character to life. Pat Morita was known for his role as the wise Japanese Sensei of the 1980's blockbuster, The Karate Kid, but he was much more than this in real life. He was a pioneer actor and comedian, forging the way for other Asian-American stars at a time when Hollywood sunned Asian-Americans. His complex life and mind are the subject of this endearing and funny look at this memorable man. Marc Zirogiannis provides his thoughts on the film, the man, and his place in the Cobra Kai world. This film has shot up the iTunes documentary charts since its release in early February, 2021.
