Having started out as a Candy Striper at the age of 13, she eventually went on to become a Registered Nurse and ultimately a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2015 she acquired a medical fraud investigation company that assists insurance carriers to review medical bills and records for evidence of erroneous charges and/or blatant fraud. While reviewing the company’s data, Angel was shocked to learn that, not only was her company instrumental in helping their clients to uncover over $30 million dollars in medically unnecessary treatment and/or billing errors, but the data also revealed that roughly 93% of the medical bills they reviewed contained errors. It was at that moment that Angel knew she needed to do more. As a Nurse first, Angel knew that she needed to let the consumers of healthcare know that this was happening and how they could protect themselves.
