The Senate has taken action to force the COVID relief bill through reconciliation. It has been sent back to the House where it will come up for a vote on Tuesday, but there is one group of people that could save the country from the garbage bill that this is. That is the progressives in the House.
They have already said that they do not like the adjustments to the bill that the Senate has done. They wanted to keep $15 minimum wage and the unemployment benefits that were already in the bill. Several have spoken out against the changes and said they are struggling to support it. Jared shares how he hopes for once they will take a stand for what they believe in and vote against this bill. If they do, they could actually save the country from the garbage the bill is.
One person who many Republicans thought would stand in the way of Joe Biden's progressive agenda was Joe Manchin. Instead, on Sunday Manchin confirmed that he has no intention to stand in the way. He simply wants to go through the motions of Congress. That has upset many of his Democrat counterparts who are complaining that they should just remove the filibuster. Manchin said he has no intentions to block the Democrat's agenda, he simply wants to give the minority a voice.
If the Democrats were concerned about a voice for the minority, they would be seeking the ability to have bipartisan legislation. They would be seeking the ability to reach common ground so they could obtain the votes needed to pass laws properly. This is not about giving a voice.
Boycott Amazon was trending on Twitter on Sunday as progressives were targeting the company for its attempts to block one of its Alabama locations from forming a union. The company has spread information about the pitfalls of a union, but this is not satisfying the Left. They are openly targeting one of the most progressive companies that exists because they are not progressive enough. It shows that the Left has a double standard and can never be satisfied.
