Rich is a 30-year law enforcement veteran who served most notably with the Dallas Police Department’s elite units, including Dallas SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics)and the Criminal Intelligence Unit-Dignitary Protection Squad. He was also assigned to the Office of the Chief of Police as a liaison to the Department of Defense.
In SWAT his duties included the resolution of barricaded suspect situations, hostage rescues, high risk warrant operations, arrest and search warrant executions, counter-terrorist operations and training. His next assignment was in theCriminal Intelligence Unit which conducts operations that includes liaison operations with the United States Secret Service, U.S. Marshals, U.S. State Department, Capitol Hill Protective Services, F.B.I. and various state agencies. He provided intelligence and dignitary protection to visiting Heads of State, members of the U.S. Senate and Congress, Supreme Court Justices, State Governors and various VIP’s.
Rich received 120 commendations and departmental awards. He is an adjunct instructor for The Safariland Group where he specializes in Chemical Agents, Specialty Impact Munitions (Less Lethal), Distraction Devices (Flash Bangs), and O.C. Aerosol Instructor certifications.
540 Solutions, LLC is his executive protection company and he certified by the Texas State Commission on Law Enforcement Education (TCOLE) to instruct in various subject matters to include: Hazardous Warrant Execution, Barricaded Person Resolution, Hostage Rescue, Firearms Instruction (Pistol and Rifle), Rapid Response to Active Shooters and Dignitary Protection.
