Bullying in schools is an international issue that has not been addressed 100% by government, the educational system, parents & educational staff. The response (if any) is outdated as we are now living in the digital space.
"These days if bullying takes place, it goes viral via social media and never ends. Posts or videos can explode on multiple platforms for thousands of people to view, resulting in a much deeper, negative psychological impact on children that can lead them to take their own life (no age gap)."
This week I share my thoughts on the matter which is now public - S/O to The Benoni City Times (JHB, SA) for supporting this mandate. We need to educate the future leaders of tomorrow to keep a balance on social media, more regulation & practice respect & kindness that will filter down to the youth.
"Now, I am not saying don’t allow children or students to take advantage of the technology and digital resources available to enhance their personal growth, but if they learn to keep a balance and control their emotions then this will lead to positive results."
Bullying leaves a lifelong scar - it ruins lives & can take it away. To any victim of physical or cyber bullying - you have to save yourself, keep mentally strong & know that you have a purpose!
