The Off Duty Podcast - Law Enforcement

Special Agent Drew Snarey has been in law enforcement for 20+ years. He started out as a deputy with the Oakland County Sheriff Department in Michigan.

After leaving the Sheriff Department, he came to work at my old department at Southfield PD, where we spent 13 years working together.

Drew left rewarding career at Southfield, Drew took his talents to the Federal level and began working with the Secret Service.

Drew is now a special agent with the Postal Service OIG.

If you're a regular listener of the podcast, then you know that I have changed the format and have broken each episode up into 4 sections:

1 - The start off question of why law enforcement:

Drew explains that for him, law enforcement is more than just arresting "bad guys". For him it's about helping people and making a difference.

He also explained that it's something he has wanted to do since a young age.

2 - Dig Deeper:

This is the part of the podcast, where I find several social media post of the guest and "dig deeper" to find out more about the post and ask related questions.

One of the post I asked Drew about, had to do with his father who passed about about a year or so, prior to this interview.

Drew is a guy who wears his heart on his shoulder and this question brought out some heartfelt emotion.

3 - Random Seven:

In this segment, I ask the guest seven TOTALLY random questions, that have nothing to do with police work.

Some of the question I ask Drew were:

1. What's the most disgusting thing you've ever put in your mouth?
2. Who would play you in a movie.
3. Would you rather be rich or famous? But you can't be both.

4 - This or That

This is the segment, where I give the guest two subjects and they must chose one.

Drew's topics were:

1. Chili, beans or no beans
2. Vintage or modern
3. Home Depot or Lowes
4. M&M's or Skittles
5. Corn, on the cob or off - I shared my killer grilled corn receipt with him, you have to check it out.
6. Bob Marley or Jimi Hendrix
