Within the Blade Almost Hits the Mark, But Marc Spells Their Name With a C, Sooo...

Within the Blade is a stealthy action-platformer where you play as a ninja and slice and dice your way through level after level, unlocking skills and new equipment along the way. There is crafting, laughing, but sadly, no river rafting. It gets a lot of things right, but it misses the mark where it counts: gameplay. A few gameplay quirks lead to it feeling a bit off and, because of that, I wasn't driven to stick with the game after beating a few levels, defeating the first boss, and leveling up my ninja a moderate degree. That said, my issues with the gameplay may not bother you, so listen to the episode for exactly why Within the Blade felt off to me and, who knows, maybe what I had a problem with won't be a problem for you.
