In this episode, we talk about the importance of sleep on our health & longevity. It’s not just enough to be in bed, we need to actually get into the right sleep cycles - specifically preparing our body for deep sleep.
In Stage 1 of Non-REM sleep our body temperature drops, and our heart rate and brain waves start to slow down. Unfortunately, most of us are hyper-alert when we go to bed and it takes a long time to slow down enough to enter sleep cycles and eventually deep sleep - the stage that really restores and rejuvenates our brain and body.
So we’ve come up with our 3-2-1 Evening Routine that gets us ready for sleep by lowering our body temperature, getting light out of our eyes, and calming our mind. This episode will be valuable for anyone looking to improve their sleep so that they wake up full of energy and optimize their longevity.
