An interview with a first year student studying Computer Sciences at NUST, who lives in one of the impoverished areas, Babilon, indicated that his household also benefits monthly from the Harambee food parcels due his mother’s joblessness.’ He said that, he is happy to have quality food and that he enjoys the instant spleen which he can quickly prepare to eat, after school. Christoph further suggests that ‘Harambee in my opinion does not solve the problem of poverty completely….he suggests that people should rather be trained to generate an income which will sustain them…’
