My name is Cecily pronounced CESS-UH-LEE, but people call me Cessy for short. I started this podcast a few years back because I discovered that my personal ramblings were actually helping other people through their own tough stuff. Most of my podcasts will be recorded on the go, because...well, I'm always on the go! Sometimes I preach myself out of a low place, so I'll be extending that same courtesy to you! You'll be getting a birds-eye view of how I process through this life, and how God s ...

I'm an adopted Korean and I grew up in America speaking only English. I started this podcast as a way to practice the Korean I am learning at KoreanClass101 (http://www.koreanclass101.com) and Korean School of Ann Arbor (http://www.koreanschoolaa.org). Constructive feedback is always welcome. I definitely could use some.

I started this podcast to get a better understanding of the process of making one. Turns out that it is a lot of fun sharing feelings and ideas with an online audience. In a few years I will probably say this was the phase where I was just messing around. I intend to get much better at this so enjoy the ride.

I started ‘Am I Allowed to Like Anything’ because I wanted to create a space for people to feel good about shouting out the stuff in culture they’re into, during a time when it’s easier to riff about the things we hate. I talk to guests about their work, their lives, and how they maintain their optimism in this world. #AIATLA is a capsule podcast. There will be 100 episodes.

There is an old saying that “love is blind”. But it shouldn’t be. When it comes to love, it should be viewed under a microscope. A false belief system from my childhood told me that no man would ever want me and caused me to marry the first guy that looked at me twice for fear that there wouldn’t be another. The abuse started on day 2 of the honeymoon when he threatened me with divorce--no argument, nothing--he just did it to be mean. That was one of many mean nights. But the old scripts pla ...
