https://twitter.com/ADanielHill “In 2014, Alberto Daniel Hill, an expert in cybersecurity, found a security issue in a medical provider’s website. In reporting the issue, it led him to become the first person imprisoned in Uruguay for a computer-related crime—a crime he didn’t commit, and one that probably never even happened. Alberto, a hacker, was the perfect target for a judicial system that doesn’t understand cybersecurity or cybercrimes. Through police misconduct and incompetence, his l ...

IN THIS EPISODE: This is my favorite recording so far. It's Thanksgiving! My very last Thanksgiving alone, and it didn't go so well. I had thawed a chicken to bake instead of a turkey, and of course, the oven in my new rental home doesn't work. I tried making some kind of stuffing-meal, but that was a fail, too. But hey... I ate an ENTIRE pumpkin p…

IN THIS EPISODE: It's the day before Thanksgiving, and above all, I'm disgusted that I had gotten on the scale and discovered that I put all the weight back on (in three months!!) that I'd lost over the past year. I then talk about how hard it is to follow God's will for our lives when we can't audibly hear his voice. Case in point, our home. I con…

The 23 year old is the co-host in this episode as we hear about the affects of prison anxiety, prison style letters sent to female pen-pals, and gaming behind the razor wire. IN THIS EPISODE: A few things in this recording: First, I was disappointed and frustrated because I hadn't heard anything more from the lady (Barb) who owned the two houses I was interested in. She totally ghosted me, and I had made the assumption that she Googled me and discovered that my fiancé was in prison. I had talked to Alan about it, and we…

Say his name: Daunte Wright. Now let's pause. This rampant killing and incarceration of black men in Minnesota must stop. The civil unrest is only a grieving response that at times take the form of destruction to release the scars of systemic racism that is very deeply rooted in Minnesota. But there's this persistent strong denial of its existence …

Therefore, I realize the problems …

IN THIS EPISODE: My heart breaks as I listen to this episode now, seeing my frustration back then. The "Sterling" house with the guest house I was all excited about turned out to be a total pit. It was a junkyard worse than Sanford & Son. Thankfully I didn't waste the trip, because I arranged to meet Barb and her two rental homes. You might remembe…

IN THIS EPISODE: The beginning of this audio recording made me laugh so hard as I edited it. I talked about how on the surface at the high level, my life was pretty boring. I lived by myself, worked from home, didn't go to an office, had no friends really, and was basically a hermit cat lady. But if you zoomed down to the micro level, my life was a…

IN THIS EPISODE: So clearly I had made the decision to continue looking for a new place to rent, since I was only on a 3 month lease. I apparently had found a good place in West Branch that I had told Gunner about, and made an appointment to go see it. For some reason I just felt compelled to find something else. So I also put an ad out on Craigsli…

IN THIS EPISODE: I for the life of me cannot figure out whether I'm supposed to remain status quo and be grateful for the blessings I have, or continue to try to make change for the sake of bettering our housing situation. The same goes for my job and career. It's really tough sometimes as a Christian to have that wisdom and discernment, to be able…

If the job of the criminal justice system is to reduce and implement sensible means in the elimination of the cycle of crime, it has failed the people of this great country. The murders of Philando Castile and George Floyd open the nation's eyes and unsettled many people's conscious to police abuse and misconduct here in Minnesota, where shouts for defund the police and criminal justice reform are shouted in waves of defiance yet showing little or no application of rural progress. So this commentary is in regards to the Derek Chauvin murder trial of George Floyd. So my favorite movie is Friday with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. "Bye Felicia!" That's the one. I watched this movie so many times to the point I had memorized and can quote each scene word-for-word. That's a testament of how many times I've seen this movie. With the …

IN THIS EPISODE: I had to record a little preface to this episode, because clearly I lost a couple of files. Whatever happened to my recording for Saturday, November 14th I have no clue.
