O improvável, o surpreendente, o inesperado e porque não o impossível formam a ousada atmosfera sonora desses quatro rapazes do litoral paulista. Desde 2001 (quando utilizavam o nome Same Joke) o Zebra Zebra tem como única regra básica passear por qualquer estilo sem nenhum remorso. Sem pedir licença, os rockeiros se arriscam no samba, cantarolam “a la” bossa-nova, gingam com o samba-rock e batem cabeça com o metal criando uma mistura no mínimo interessante. Canções entoadas em bom português vão do mais puro niilismo ao engajamento num “piscar” de notas. Em tempos de bandas ricas de grana e pobres de novidade chegou a hora de dar Zebra Zebra. “Zebra” é uma gíria comum no futebol brasileiro para designar um resultado inesperado, surpreendente, favorável ao mais fraco. Criada pelo técnico carioca Gentil Cardoso na década de 40, a gíria tem como origem o jogo do bicho, que não tem zebra entre os 25 animais. Ou seja, a zebra era impossível de ser sorteada. [Unlikely, surprising, unpredictable and (why not?) impossible all together create these four guys bold sound atmosphere. Formed in São Paulo’s coast in 2001 (when they still were known as Same Joke, their former name), Zebra Zebra’s only rule is to try out and flirt with every music style without any regret. They take their chances on genres like samba, bossa-nova, “samba-rock” and bang their heads in heavy metal, creating an at least interesting mixture. These guys sing in good Portuguese in lyrics that go from nihilism to social engagement in a blink of a note. When there are a lot of bands full of money but out of originality, it’s time for Zebra Zebra. "Zebra" is an usual Brazilian soccer slang for a game result that is unexpected, surprising, favorable for the weaker team. First used in the 40’s by Rio coach Gentil Cardoso, it’s originated in a popular fortune game named "jogo do bicho" (animal’s game) that doesn’t contains zebra among its 25 animals, so a zebra could never possibly win.]
