Artificial intelligence is evolving at an unprecedented pace—what does that mean for the future of technology, venture capital, business, and even our understanding of ourselves? Award-winning journalist and writer Anil Ananthaswamy joins us for our latest episode to discuss his latest book Why Machines Learn: The Elegant Math Behind Modern AI . Anil helps us explore the journey and many breakthroughs that have propelled machine learning from simple perceptrons to the sophisticated algorithms shaping today’s AI revolution, powering GPT and other models. The discussion aims to demystify some of the underlying math that powers modern machine learning to help everyone grasp this technology impacting our lives, even if your last math class was in high school. Anil walks us through the power of scaling laws, the shift from training to inference optimization, and the debate among AI’s pioneers about the road to AGI—should we be concerned, or are we still missing key pieces of the puzzle? The conversation also delves into AI’s philosophical implications—could understanding how machines learn help us better understand ourselves? And what challenges remain before AI systems can truly operate with agency? If you enjoy this episode, please subscribe and leave us a review on your favorite podcast platform. Finally after months of talking about it we got the beautiful Linda “Nuves” Tovar on the show, we talk about the birth Of blank Tuesday, her love for music, how she joined her fathers band, being a DJ, representing Latin music culture and how it influenced her.
“We are back like cooked crack....which isn’t back at all, so I never understood why people say that. Oh well. This week we were missing the Sultan of Swishers Cam Digital so we had a good friend of the group sit in with us. This lead to a pretty interesting night, we got away from our normal programming of nerd content and found ourselves going from discussing relationships to niggas needing therapy. Tune in and press play to hear niggas talk about life.”…
“We are back! Coming to you live from Japan for this episode! Oh wait, no that’s wrong! We are coming to you live from Damien’s living room as usual just with a nigga who was born in Japan! We welcome our good friend Kei to join us in our weekly nerd non-sense and are trying to setup and underground celebrity boxing match between him and Michael B Jordan(it’s in the works)! So yeah we are back after a two weeks hiatus with some personal life updates and some good ole video game and anime coverage and discussion. Tune back in and get reacquainted! More things to come soon!…
“With a host on sick day and not enough news for a full episode we present to you! Late Thursday Nights first ever FILLER EPISODE! We prep for a double dose of anime and video games next week with just some simple discussion about music and what info we could get during the Tokyo Game Show as it was occurring during the recording itself. So tune in and listen to a short episode because we coming back with the heat next week”…
“Everything’s fun and games until you find yourself at the Bootyring. After a week off we welcome Anthony back from the east coast and he tells us about his time in the uppity Bushwick area. It’s been a hectic week or two in the entertainment area following a social media divide over Dave Chapelle new stand up so we give a bit of personal views on it but we quickly move to keep things light and fun with September video game coverage and all the anime we have caught up on. Tune in now for a lengthy episode to follow the off week.”…
With our co-host and resident sound engineer Anthony in New York this week we are running a little behind on the upload, coming in a day late and a dollar short except we haven't started making money off this yet anyway. It's been such a ridiculous week that we can barely remember what we covered, a little bit of chicken sandwich here and a little bit of Spiderman there. Damien and Cam just shoot the shit this week with relevant commentary on recent trending topics and their never ending excitement about this summers anime....yes we are still hyped about Demon Slayer.…
“Y’all ever had a migraine before and still showed up to work? Well Cam manages to call in and do the podcast from his crib because him and his migraine were not fucking with the bright as LA sun. We still kept is poppin this week opening up with some quick discussion on what rappers have the best ear for beats and how some rappers should stick to rapping about what they know because they do it so well. Then we take a needed and honest look at how our beloved video game community is just like any other when it comes to the countless perverse and sick individuals preying on people sexually and the part social media plays in how these situations are handled by the masses. But to prevent things from ending on a serious note we get into last weeks anime simulcasts and it was indeed a beautiful week for anime lovers. From Demon Slayer to Vinland Saga it seems the summer anime season is gonna end up on a high note.”…
Rolling into Episode 14 we show our support in the #FreeZackFox movement, discuss the stupid phrase “everyone’s too sensitive nowadays” but also how you can’t just hashtag everything away. In what’s been a typical week in social media non sense we focus on trending video game topics, most importantly Premier Fighting Game Tournament EVO and the recent Borderlands 3 outrage. And as usual if you’re here for the anime which we hope you are we round out the episode with some recap, review and series suggestions.…
“We are back this week to ask, are you watching “The Boys” on amazon prime? Because you should be, we give a little mid-season review of a show that feels like RockNRolla meets Comics and Superheros. Also discuss how it’s perfectly fine to hate on people who are shitty people because fuck them. Plus we never miss an opportunity to talk about Demon Slayer and this summers anime simulcasts.”…
We shoot the shit and try to get into some serious anime discussion but Anthony’s got other things on the brain. So things get long winded as we end up giving our views on social media and dating. Sooner or later we will get the whole episode framework thing down.
We took a week off and folks from bagel shops all the way to Disneyland have lost their goddamn minds. But this will not interrupt our regularly scheduled Hot Boy Summer activities, we all saw the new Spider Man movie and didn't really do shit this week but sometimes that's what summers for.
This week we discuss subbing your crush on social media, the ins and outs of being a sad boy, a little bit of anime before Anthony and Damien hit the expo and Cam gets into his horror bag.
