Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to wrap up their opening round series with the Wild and advance to the second round with a Game 6 victory in Minnesota. Vegas took an early lead after Brayden McNabb drew a four-minute high-sticking penalty. Shea Theodore launched a shot from the high s,lot giving the visiting team a 1-0 advantage. With four seconds remaining in the period, Minnesota evened the score 1-1. Both teams traded chances in the middle frame, but neither could snap the 1-1 tie for the majority of the period. With under five minutes remaining in the frame, Jack Eichel snapped the tie with his first goal of the postseason. After 40 minutes of Game 6 the Golden Knights held a 2-1 edge. Vegas fought off several Minnesota rushes in the final frame, but Adin Hill and the defense held strong. Captain Mark Stone extended the Golden Knights’ lead but the Wild answered seconds later. Minnesota pulled their goalie late in the game, but Vegas kept the puck out of the net and eliminated the Wild in six games. The Golden Knights defeated the Wild 3-2 in Minnesota and advance to the second round of the playoffs. Vegas will have to wait until the Edmonton and LA series wraps up before knowing their next opponent. Regardless of the opponent, the Golden Knights will hold home ice advantage. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: A cagey elimination game as was to be expected. The Golden Knights were quite loose with the puck all over the ice for a while but Minnesota helped by handing them a 4-minute penalty which once again got VGK on the board in a big spot. Game kind of turned into a dump and chase fest for a little while there but Mark Stone decided it was time for an otherworldly play by Mark Stone and a gorgeous finish by Jack Eichel. VGK then went into lockdown mode defensively trying to keep the puck away from the front of the net and they suceeded long enough to take a two goal lead. They are living in their own end and allowing Grade A chances left and right. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) May 2, 2025 The Golden Knights are NOT at home. Thus, they do NOT have control of the matchups in this game. Remember that when you read this next sentence. Jack Eichel has been on the ice for 8:16 of Kirill Kaprizov's 11:49 of 5-on-5 ice time. Coaching matters. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) May 2, 2025 Jack Eichel will not miss that one!!! Kaprizov laid out in the neutral zone and Stone made him pay with a perfectly placed pass. 2-1 VGK — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) May 2, 2025 The post GAME 6 – VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 3 MINNESOTA WILD 2 (VGK Win Series 4-2) appeared first on SinBin.vegas .…

Recap : The Golden Knights were looking to take a 3-2 series lead with a Game 5 victory against the Minnesota Wild. Vegas committed an early infraction but that didn’t slow down Jack Eichel and William Karlsson. Eichel found Karlsson for a shorthanded goal giving the Golden Knights the first lead of the game. Seconds later the Wild scored to make it a 1-1 affair. At the 13:24 mark of the period captain Mark Stone broke the tie by recording his first goal of the postseason. After 20 minutes, Vegas led 2-1. Vegas was awarded two 2nd period power plays in a two-and-a-half-minute span. However, the Golden Knights failed to score on either man-advantage. Vegas held a 2-1 edge going into the second intermission. Minnesota evened Game 5 three and a half minutes into the final frame. With under two minutes to play the Wild scored to take the lead but the goal was reversed after a review. The game would eventually lead to an overtime period. Brett Howden ended Game 5 with an overtime goal set up by Tanner Pearson. The Golden Knights win Game 5 and take a 3-2 series lead. Vegas will have a chance to close out the series with a Game 6 victory on Thursday. Puck drop in Minnesota is scheduled for 4:30 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: The Golden Knights needed a little magic from their bench boss to help them continue the momentum from Game 4 and they got it. Eichel and Karlsson were dynamite together early in the game and it put the Wild on their heels. Karlsson standing right in front on the second goal was exactly what was expected when they were put together. VGK needed an unbelievable escape to get out of the 3rd period without giving up the lead, thanks to an offside challenge. In overtime, VGK needed a hero and they found one in Brett Howden. (Recap by Ken) Upcoming stories from Game 5 of the first round series between the Vegas Golden Knights vs Minnesota Wild at T-Mobile Arena. Recap: Vegas was hoping to rinse the bad taste of the last two games out of their mouth and get the series back on serve with a Game 4 win in Minnesota. They scored first for the first time since Game 1 with a power play tally from Shea Theodore. Jack Eichel also recorded his first point of the series on the goal. Minnesota answered back with a 4th line forechecking goal by Marco Rossi. In the 2nd, the Golden Knights held the puck in the Minnesota zone for tons of time but weren’t able to find any holes in the Wild defense. Meanwhile, Marcus Foligno scored for the third straight game of the series on a rebound directly in front of the VGK goal. A crazy 3rd period saw the Golden Knights earn a 4-minute power play that they ultimately cashed in on with a Nic Roy goal. Then, a scrum between Tomas Hertl and Ryan Hartman off to the side of the net became a backboard for Mark Stone. He shot the puck into them and it deflected right into the goal. Minnesota tied it up moments later on a wraparound goal from Jared Spurgeon. A back and forth overtime ends with Ivan Barbashev finding a loose puck in front of the goal and shoveling it home to win the game. The Golden Knights win Game 4 in overtime by the score of 4-3. Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday. Puck drop time is expected to be announced later tonight. (Recap by Ken) Analysis: The Golden Knights got the better start they were hoping for by applying some early pressure, drawing a penalty, and cashing in on it. Some of the same problems began to crop up afterwards, though, including turning the puck over to the MIN 4th line. Then, the issue we were worried about coming in made an appearance as Foligno won a jump ball and then a loose puck directly in front. Vegas came out hot int he 3rd period and made their own bounces for the first time in the series. Two massive goals by Tomas Hertl and Ivan Barbashev have the Vegas Golden Knights alive and well in the postseason once again. (Recap by Ken) Upcoming stories from Game 4 of the first round series between the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center. Hill with a massive save on the Trenin breakaway, narrowly avoiding a repeat of the Kaprizov one in Game 2. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 26, 2025 The Golden Knights are going to need to force the Wild to do something they haven't done all year, blow a game with a lead to start the 3rd period. Minnesota are 31-0-0 carrying a lead into the 3rd. The only team in the NHL with a perfect record. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 26, 2025 Finally, VGK win on a loose puck, it's Nic Roy who finds it and sticks it into the open net. VGK have tied it! 2-2 — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 26, 2025 All VGK's offense still coming off Theodore's stick. Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to take a 2-1 series lead with a Game 3 victory in Minnesota. The Wild jumped on the scoreboard first, minutes into the opening period. A few shifts later the home team doubled their lead. At the midway point of the frame Alex Pietrangelo cut Minnesota’s advantage to 2-1. The Wild regained their two-goal lead 11 minutes into the middle frame. Minnesota took a 4-1 lead into the second intermission after scoring at the 19:58 mark of the period. Vegas drew a penalty in the opening five minutes of the final frame but couldn’t convert any chances into a goal. However, Reilly Smith scored on the penalty kill to get the Golden Knights within two. Vegas failed on two more 3rd period power play chances and gave up an empty-net shorthanded goal. The Golden Knights drop Game 3 to the Wild 5-2 and trail the opening round series two games to one. Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Puck drop against the Wild is scheduled for 1 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: The pushback everyone expected from the Golden Knights to open this game simply did not appear until it was too late. A too many men penalty gave the Wild the lead and got the ball rolling in the right direction. A second one made it a mountain for the Golden Knights to climb, and even though they appeared to be climbing it, one single mistake would be enough to halt all of the progress. That’s exactly what as another turnover deep in the defensive zone led to a Wild goal. (Recap by Ken) Upcoming stories from Game 3 of the first round series between the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center. Message from Game 2 didn’t come through, so what now? Ken’s Three VGK Stars *** Ivan Barbashev ** Reilly Smith * William Karlsson Cassidy says the linesmen clearly blew the call on the icing before the Boldy goal. Replay confirms that unequivocally. He added though that they still have to make a play and it was one of two goals that came directly from below the goal line. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 25, 2025 Got a little luck with the puck off the post. Got a great look in front. But the Wild are simply better tonight. VGK are down 5-2 (again) and they are behind in a 1st round series for the third year in a row. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 25, 2025 Akira Schmid is in the net for VGK. This is the first time in Adin Hill's playoff career he's been pulled. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 25, 2025 See that area right out in front of the goal. There's no where near enough action there, and that's a huge reason why VGK are struggling to score right now. (To be fair, it's pretty darn clean on the other side and they have 4, so…) pic.twitter.com/ZSvUXODYez — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 25, 2025 The post GAME 3 – MINNESOTA WILD 5 VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2 (MIN 2-1) appeared first on SinBin.vegas .…

Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to take a two games to none lead with a Game 2 victory. Vegas came out firing and creating several quality chances within the opening minutes of the game. Midway through the period, Minnesota took their first lead of the series. The Wild scored two more 1st period goals to take a 3-0 advantage into the intermission. Quickly into the middle frame Minnesota stretched their lead to 4-0. Eight minutes later Noah Hanifin finally got Vegas on the board. After 40 minutes, the Golden Knights trailed 4-1. The Golden Knights cut the Wild’s lead in half in the opening three minutes of the final frame. Tomas Hertl scored his second goal of the postseason to give Vegas some life. However, Minnesota flipped in an empty net goal with time winding down. The Wild even the series 1-1 with their 5-2 Game 2 victory in Las Vegas. The series will resume on Thursday evening in Minnesota. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: This game really comes down to one simple problem for the Golden Knights. Puck management. They coughed the puck up over and over and over again in the first 30 minutes and it dug a hole so deep that even a decent push back wasn’t enough. It’s not going to feel this way in the moment, but this is a game the Golden Knights put directly on themselves, which means it’s not what Minnesota did, it’s what VGK did to themselves. Don’t do it again, and the series should flip right back around. (Recap by Ken) Upcoming stories from Game 2 of the first round series between the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Minnesota Wild at T-Mobile Arena. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrAPecWQykc VGK let the Wild right back in this Ken’s Three VGK Stars *** Tomas Hertl ** Zach Whitecloud * Alex Pietrangelo Early goalie pull gave VGK a bit of hope but a 200 foot saucer pass from Kaprizov hits the back of the net. The series is tied and MIN's best players are outclassing VGK's. But, VGK gave this game away as much as MIN took it. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 23, 2025 For VGK to have any chance in this 3rd period, they are going to need a lot more out of Eichel and Stone. They've each been on the ice for exactly 3 shots on goal. If they are playing together, they have to generate exponentially more than that. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 23, 2025 There's a microcosm of the entire game. MIN had 2 players without sticks and somehow VGK fire a shot into one of the 3 in tact sticks out of play. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 23, 2025 Shea Theodore has had 11 shifts tonight, there have been goals scored on 5 of them, including 2 in a row nearly 8 minutes apart. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 23, 2025 The post GAME 2 – MINNESOTA WILD 5 VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2 (Series Tied 1-1) appeared first on SinBin.vegas .…

Recap: The Golden Knights began their pursuit to a second franchise championship by hosting the Minnesota Wild for Game 1 of the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs. Tomas Hertl opened the postseason with angoal 15:22 into the first period. The Wild answered back a few shifts later. After twenty minutes, Game 1 was locked in a 1-1 tie. At the 13:33 mark of the second period Pavel Dorofeyev gave Vegas a 2-1 lead with a power play goal. Quickly into the final frame Brett Howden scored to give Vegas a 3-1 advantage. Minnesota got within one but Adin Hill and Vegas’ team defense fought them off down the stretch. Brett Howden iced the game with an empty-netter with less than a second to go. The Golden Knights take a 1-0 series lead after defeating the Wild 4-2 at T-Mobile Arena. Game 2 of the opening round series continues on Tuesday night. Puck drop against Minnesota is scheduled for 8 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: The playoffs are officially here as the speed of the game picked up in a big way right off the hop of this one. It was a physical, fast game in which both teams struggled to really take hold of for the first half of the game. Then, VGK’s biggest advantage of the game came to life as the power play scored in just six seconds. From there, it was about winning the battles in front of the goal and Vegas needed everyone’s sticks to get it done but they ultimately finished the job. (Recap by Ken) Upcoming stories from Game 1 of the first round series between the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Minnesota Wild at T-Mobile Arena.
