This is a poem I wrote some years ago when I finally realized how I've been living in my mind the whole time. You may not be in a physical prison or situations that make life look like a prison. You may have everything you need and want. Life may be good to you. But when you ain't free in your mind, you ain't free anywhere! Every good thing seems dark to you. And every bad thing? Pitch blackness!! Your mind can be the best place to be and the worst place to be as well! It can be paradise or hell; it's all up to you! That's why ONLY YOU CAN DEFINE YOU! For nothing is what it is EXCEPT THE MEANING YOU GIVE IT!! A spade will be a spade if you call it a spade. If you call it a big spoon, a big spoon it will be unto you. Thank you.
