This Act strengthens legal provisions to safeguard children under the age of 18 from sexual abuse, exploitation, harassment, and pornography. Its implementation aims to ensure their safety and well-being. Recently, an article from 'The Arunachal Times' reported that 26 cases have been recorded under the POCSO Act. Notably, two individuals in Arunachal's Lower Subansiri district have been sentenced to 20 years in jail under this Act, emphasizing the seriousness of child protection.
