This episode is here to remind you that planning isn’t about perfection; it’s about direction. Welcome back to the More Than Enough podcast! This week, we’re stepping into the third week of Advent and lighting the “Joy” candle. It’s such a beautiful moment to pause and reflect on the story of the shepherds—their awe, their wonder, and the uncontainable joy they felt when the angel shared the good news of the Messiah’s birth. Joy is such a special gift—it’s the outward, overflowing expression of the peace God plants deep in our hearts. Together, we explore how to embrace joy in the present, even when life feels incomplete or uncertain. Just like the shepherds in the dark of night, joy can surprise us in the most unexpected places. As we move through this Advent season together, let’s take a moment to breathe, reflect, and marvel at the beauty of this time. Let’s treasure the joy we have today, a beautiful reminder of the even greater joy that lies ahead. Thank you for being with us—it’s a gift to share this journey with you. Welcome back to the More Than Enough Podcast ! We’re so glad you’re here with us as we journey through this Advent season. This week, we’re lighting the second candle on the Advent wreath—the Bethlehem Candle—and leaning into the theme of peace . Today, we’re reflecting on Mary and Joseph’s incredible journey to Bethlehem. Can you imagine it? A 90-mile trek on foot or donkey, with Mary heavily pregnant, through cold, rainy weather and a town bursting at the seams. It wasn’t comfortable, it wasn’t convenient, and yet, in the midst of it all, God’s peace was there, sustaining them. As we think about their story, it invites us to consider our own lives. How often do we long for peace—true peace, the kind that stays steady no matter what chaos surrounds us? That’s the peace we’re talking about today. It’s the peace of God that isn’t tied to circumstances but instead fills our hearts, giving us strength even in the waiting, in the uncertainty, and in the hardest moments. Whether you’re in a season of waiting, walking through a trial, or just needing a moment to breathe, we pray this episode encourages your heart and reminds you of the beautiful gift of God’s peace. Welcome to The More Than Enough Podcast . Can you believe it’s already December? This month can feel like a whirlwind, but we’re leaning into something grounding and beautiful—Advent. Each week, we’ll reflect on one of the Advent candles and its meaning, giving you a peaceful reprieve amidst the holiday hustle. In today’s episode, we’re talking about Hope , the first candle of Advent, often called the Prophecy Candle. Hope is where it all begins—anchoring us in the promises of God and pointing us forward, just as the Old Testament prophets looked ahead to Jesus’ first coming. We’re reflecting on biblical hope as the certainty of God’s promises and how it sustains us, even in seasons of waiting on the seemingly impossible. Here’s what we dive into: The meaning of biblical hope : It’s not wishful thinking but the absolute certainty of God’s promises. Stories from Scripture : From Joshua’s bold faith to the inspiring story of Rahab and her "cord of hope." Praying for the impossible : Trusting God to breathe life into seemingly hopeless situations. Hope for the season : How leaning into Advent can shift our focus from busyness to the beauty of Jesus’ coming. As we enter this Advent season, we encourage you to reflect on the promises of God and the hope we have in Him—our anchor in every storm. “Advent is a season of waiting, but our whole life is an advent season—a season of waiting for the last advent, for the time when there will be a new heaven and a new earth.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer We’re so grateful you’re here with us. Let’s journey through this season together, keeping our eyes fixed on the hope of Christ. Join us next week as we light the second candle and explore the theme of Peace . In this episode, we’re diving deep into the journey of attachment styles and what it means to grow toward secure, healthy connections. Last week, we introduced the four attachment styles—secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized—and explored why understanding these patterns matters. Today, we're picking up where we left off, with a focus on practical steps you can take to move from insecure to secure attachment in your relationships. Whether you've recently identified with an insecure attachment style or have known for a while, you might be wondering, "Can I change?" Here’s the good news: Yes, absolutely!!!! We believe that with intention, community, and God’s guidance, transformation is possible. We explore how surrounding yourself with people who model secure attachments, learning to recognize triggers, and inviting God into your healing journey can help build stronger, more grounded connections. In this conversation, we share insights on: Practical tips to bridge the gap from insecure to secure attachment How to recognize and gently challenge old patterns that no longer serve you Ways to seek out positive influences and supportive relationships The role of compassion, especially self-compassion, in healing past wounds If you’re ready to take small, purposeful steps toward growth, this episode is for you. We’re here cheering you on, reminding you that you don’t have to navigate this alone, and that meaningful change is ALWAYS possible. Let’s journey together, leaning on one another and trusting in God’s promise to transform our lives. Resources: Follow us on Instagram Join the email list Check out the website…
In today’s episode, we dive into attachment styles – those early relationship patterns with our caregivers that shape how we connect with others throughout life. If you’ve been following our recent discussions on modeling , this episode expands on that, breaking down how attachment styles influence our adult relationships. The Four Attachment Styles: Secure Attachment – Built from consistent, responsive caregiving, this style leads to healthy relationships where we feel safe, supported, and resilient. Anxious Attachment – Stemming from inconsistent caregiving, this style can make us crave closeness while feeling unsure or needy in relationships. Avoidant Attachment – Often resulting from less responsive caregivers, this style leads to independence and emotional distance, with discomfort around intimacy. Disorganized Attachment – Rooted in unpredictable caregiving, this style combines anxious and avoidant traits, making relationships feel chaotic and trust difficult. Recognizing our attachment style can be a powerful step toward self-awareness and growth. We’re all shaped by our early years, but we also have the power to grow, heal, and rewrite old patterns. No matter where we are on this journey, God is more than enough to guide us in transforming these areas of our lives. Thanks for listening, and remember – growth is possible, and there’s always hope for healing. Resources: Follow us on Instagram Join the email list Check out the website…
Hey everyone, welcome back to More Than Enough ! We're so glad you're here with us again. This episode is a continuation of last week’s conversation, and if you haven’t listened to that yet, we’d love for you to go back and catch up. In that episode, we unpacked the incredible influence of modeling in our lives. We looked at how the behaviors, beliefs, and patterns we were raised with shape who we are today. But this week, we’re diving into what happens when we challenge those patterns and beliefs, especially the ones that don’t serve us. In today's episode, we talk about how stepping away from our inherited narratives isn’t just possible—it can be the most empowering journey we take. This isn’t about rejecting our roots but about aligning with a higher calling to heal, grow, and create new legacies. We start with the big question—how do we stop negative patterns in our lives from repeating? We talk about why it matters to recognize these influences and how we can begin making changes in our beliefs and behaviors. This isn’t just about us; it’s about impacting future generations and everyone around us. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. We believe that when we allow God to heal and reshape us, we begin to model something new for the people around us. We become “ambassadors” of the goodness and wholeness He intends for all of us. This episode is an invitation to see yourself as a bridge for others—a living example of what’s possible when we choose healing and transformation over resignation. We’re here to remind you that you’re not alone on this journey. Wherever you are, know that God is in it with you, and we’re cheering you on every step of the way. We hope you feel encouraged, empowered, and maybe a bit inspired by our conversation. As always, thank you for being a part of our More Than Enough family. We’re so grateful you’re here with us on this journey toward hope, healing, and wholeness. Resources: Follow us on Instagram Join the email list Check out the website…
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the More Than Enough Podcast! In today’s episode, we’re diving into something really close to home for all of us – the power of modeling . And no, we’re not talking about runways or toy trains! We’re talking about the way that behaviors, beliefs, and patterns modeled to us as kids shape our perspectives and lives, often without us even realizing Today we open up about how we each experienced certain behaviors modeled in our childhoods and how those early experiences can stick with us. We chat about how, whether we want them to or not, these influences often become foundational, impacting our beliefs, relationships, and even how we view ourselves. I think of it as a sponge – whatever we were soaked in as kids tends to seep out in our adult lives, whether we like it or not. But here’s the hope-filled part: just because something was modeled to us doesn’t mean we’re stuck with it forever. We talk about the ways we’ve learned to step back, acknowledge those patterns, and – most importantly – invite God into those areas to bring healing and transformation. So, whether you’ve noticed certain behaviors or beliefs you’d rather not carry forward or you’re just starting to explore how your childhood shaped you, this episode is for you. We’re here to remind you that change is possible, healing is real, and God is ready to help you walk through the hardest parts. We pray that as you listen, you feel seen, supported, and encouraged to take steps toward freedom and transformation. We hope these conversations encourage you to explore what’s been modeled to you and inspire you to create new patterns that bring more light, peace, and joy into your life. Remember, you are not defined by what was modeled to you – there’s always a new way forward. Resources: Follow us on Instagram Join the email list Check out the website…
Hey friends, welcome back to the More Than Enough Podcast ! In today’s episode, I sit down with Madre as we talk about something that's been a recurring theme in our conversations lately: the feeling that sometimes Western Christianity can come off like a bait-and-switch. You know, the way the gospel can be presented as this message of peace and happiness without fully preparing us for the real struggles of life. So, we wanted to dive deep into that and unpack what we mean by it. We’re asking the tough questions today—like, are we unintentionally overselling the easy parts of Christianity without discussing the difficult ones? How can we be honest about the challenges that come with faith? We’re not here to provoke fear or anxiety, but rather to encourage all of us to accept the reality of hardship and to lean into God’s peace and strength through it. It’s about facing life’s battles knowing that God is with us every step of the way, equipping us for what’s ahead. Resources: Follow us on Instagram Join the email list Check out the website…
Welcome back to the More Than Enough Podcast! We missed you last week as we took some time to navigate the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. For those who don’t know, we’re based in Asheville, North Carolina, and our community was hit hard. We lost power and water, and the storm left behind a trail of devastation that we’re all still processing. In this episode, Madre and I open up about what it was like living through this unexpected hurricane. In the midst of such devastation, It was incredible to see how people shared what they had – water, food, even just a helping hand. In the midst of it all, there was this sense of unity, a leveling of the playing field where it didn’t matter who you were or what you did, but how you could help each other through. We both felt God’s presence in that, guiding us to see each other with new eyes. As we continue to rebuild, we’re so thankful for the helpers – both near and far – who have shown up in our community. I hope our story resonates with you and reminds you to look for the helpers around you too, in big ways and small. Resources: Follow us on Instagram Join the email list Check out the website…
Hey friends, welcome back to another episode of The More Than Enough Podcast! This episode is a special one because I got to record it while sitting right next to my mom! Today, we’re diving into a topic that feels really close to my heart: the journey of not growing numb in our lives. We talked about what it looks like to be truly present with our emotions, with God, and with the people around us, even when it feels easier to shut down or disconnect. It’s a struggle I think so many of us face, especially when life feels overwhelming, and sometimes, we either find ourselves paralyzed by fear and anxiety or shutting down completely to the point of numbness. If you've ever felt overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you're just going through the motions, this episode is for you. I hope you'll listen in and feel encouraged to face whatever might be causing you to go numb and instead, choose to wake up and feel again. Thanks for joining us today, friends! Be sure to let us know your thoughts, share your own experiences, or just say hello. We love hearing from you!!…
Welcome back to another episode of the More Than Enough Podcast! Today we are diving deep into the topic of traditions, especially as we enter the cozy fall and holiday season. We’re chatting about why traditions are so important and how they can become a grounding, life-giving part of our families, whether they're big, elaborate rituals or small, everyday moments. We start off by reflecting on how traditions often resemble routines but on a grander scale. They’re more than just habits—they’re intentional practices that can provide a sense of stability and belonging, especially in a fast-paced world. One of the biggest takeaways for us is that traditions don’t always have to stay the same. Sometimes, what once brought joy might start to feel like a chore, and that’s okay! It's a sign that it's time to adjust or even let go. We also touch on the importance of inviting God into our traditions. This is a big one! By asking Him to guide us in choosing which traditions to keep or let go of, we can make sure they’re truly life-giving and not just another thing to check off our to-do list. We share how sitting with God and seeking His vision can help create traditions that not only ground us but also draw us closer to Him. We challenge you to take a moment this week to reflect on your own traditions. What are the ones that bring you joy? Are there any that might need tweaking or letting go? And if you’re looking to start something new, don’t be afraid to sit with God and ask Him to guide you in creating traditions that will bring life and joy to your family.
