Happy Independence Day! LIVE at 8pm ET, A Metsian Podcast comes at you with the hopes and dreams that as the summer and July take off, we may actually have baseball at the tailend of this month, even if it was extremely strange not having actual baseball on the Fourth of July. Both yesterday and today, however, different squads started simulated baseball, including the likes of Jacob deGrom and Yoenis Cespedes. There won't be many "Spring" games, only 3, but for the next two weeks, we will have the images of players on the field, hoping, as we are, baseball can take off safely and securely. While some players around the league have been opting out and/or expressing major concerns, Seth Lugo was vocal about being ready to do his job. We'll discuss what some players have said on both sides of the playing-through-COVID issue, as well as discuss Hal Steinbrenner's comments about the possibility of fans in the stands.
