Sara Hastreiter was born and raised landlocked in Wyoming and did not get into sailing until well into her 20’s, but she did not let that slow her down. Working on boats in the Caribbean, she took every opportunity to get sea time; from island hopping to trans-Atlantic races, it did not matter, she signed up.

With only a few years of sailing under her belt, she was asked to be a member of the all-female Team SCA that sailed around the world as a part of the 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race, but even that challenge was not enough. Sara has now set her sights on becoming the first woman to sail the seven seas and climb the highest peaks on all seven continents.
