On this episode of AOS I sat down with Jamil from Sustainable Jiu Jitsu. Jamil has been on the podcast three times now. This episode, as well as EP#001 and EP#017. Feel free to check them out too.
Jamil is known for his friendly and social vibe, as well as his open mats across Perth and his Instagram page, which is very supportive of the Perth BJJ scene as well as where he hosts his 'Coffee & Chats' podcast/vlogs.
On this episode we had a chat about his recent open mat at City Beach, which raised funds for Tenacious House, a charity that focuses on men's recovery and rehabilitation. We also had a chat about the recent Grappling Super Fights that Jamil became an impromptu live video host and commentator of. I am also pleased to see that several guests of AOS were competing in GSF - Kat Stewart, Tyneille Fogarty and Daz Mokaraka.
We also spoke about the recent loss of Jamil's father and how it has impacted him on and off the mats, as well as how he has gone about dealing with it through his continued involvement in martial arts and the overwhelming support he received from the martial arts community in Perth and abroad.
