In rugby union: Team Fijiana 7s open their Singapore 7s tournament today against Great Britain at 4.28PM, then they take on Brazil at 9.43PM, and play Australia at 4.50PM on Saturday in their last pool game.
The Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s side will play the USA at 5.14PM today in their first pool game before facing Great Britain at 10.30PM, and they play Ireland at 5.37PM on Saturday in their final pool game.
Samoa plays France at 6.20PM today and South Africa at 11.18PM tonight. They play Spain at 5.59PM tomorrow.
In rugby league: PERFECT STORM – the South Sydney Rabbitohs are set to offer Wayne Bennett a three-year deal amid reports the master coach has sounded out the Parramatta Eels about a potential position should Brad Arthur be sacked.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported Souths want Bennett back on a three-year contract from 2025, but that Bennett had interest in the Eels job if it became available.
However, the Eels Board has reportedly decided not to follow up on approaches from third parties acting on Bennett’s behalf.

ESPN reported that the 25-year-old Garcia failed two drug tests administered the day before and the day of the 20 April pay-per-view bout in New York City, citing a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association letter.
Garcia vehemently denied the allegations in a video posted on social media.
Finally in SportsBiz: “They messed up. They should have negotiated until the very end,” he said. “Caitlin Clark was in the best position to maximize her value immediately.”
That’s Sonny Vaccaro, a former executive who was instrumental in signing Michael Jordan to Nike and Kobe Bryant to Adidas, said in an interview with TMZ Sports, on Caitlin Clark’s reported eight-year - US$28Million contract with Nike - the most lucrative shoe deal a women’s basketball player has ever signed.
He said that Clark’s representatives should have negotiated for more.
