At last years DEAP conference, Dave White shared his thoughts on 'A Sense of Presence', supported by Ian Truelove, during a time of refocusing and mass shift to online delivery. In this reflection, Dave and Ian recall the unexpected challenges they faced during last year's keynote, and those that unfolded throughout the academic year. Considering the obstacles that emerged and the knowledge gained, they describe how a true sense of presence was formed. Through this reflection, they contemplate a vision of placemaking and presence as we start to explore beyond Covid-19.
