The Bowers Museum will be celebrating Disney Legend Sam McKim’s 100th birthday. The Sam McKim Centennial will take place on two dates at the Bower’s celebrating what would have been Sam’s 100th birthday. General admission is $100, which includes a pre-show of artwork, photos, artifacts, and film clips from Sam’s Hollywood days, and an hour and a half presentation of Sam’s life including a panel with Floyd Norman, Dorothy L. McKim, and Kim Irvine. Bill Cotter will moderate the panel. Disney Visa Cardmembers have a new perk at Disney California Adventure. In Hollywood Land, near stage 17 from 3pm to 6pm daily, cardholders will be able to experience a “heroic” exclusive meet and greet. Last week, Disney hosted 19 children and their families as part of the Make-a-Wish “Blaze Your Path: A Star Wars Adventure” event. Children and their families were able to experience their own Star Wars adventure that ended with a show stopping experience. The finale was an entire story and adventure of the Resistance fighting the First Order. Rey, Vi Moradi, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, and more were part of the show. Visitors to Batuu can now purchase a dining package to experience the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks spectacular. Starting in November, Docking Bay 7 will offer a space-themed food and beverages. Included in the dining package will be a reserved spot to view the fireworks. Some additional accessories have debuted for the create your own headbands in the parks. Characters from Inside Out 2 can now be added to your collection. There is a lot of construction happening around the parks at the moment. Here is an update on some of the changes. The #saveteresastrees in the esplanade have been moved back about 20 feet for better guest flow at the turnstyles. The Disneyland Railroad is continuing to get it’s track replaced, and the Main Street Station is behind scrim and scaffold to get work done. At the Haunted Mansion, new queue elements are going up, the carriage house has taken shape, and new decorative elements, including the attraction sign have appeared at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. – https://www.micechat.com/398072-disneyland-update-star-wars-redo-tianas-debut-construction-in-view/

When we were in the parks in August, we noticed a refreshed water fountain near the Alice restrooms in Fantasyland.
