A very confused and almost incomprehensible Donald Trump got on Truth Social to blast the Republican Party for voting this past September to suspend the debt ceiling in order to keep the government running. Trump said that this was the "dumbest" political decision ever and that nothing was gained from it. He then took a bizarre turn and blamed this "dumb" decision on the Democrats, even though they were the minority party.
Just one day after claiming that he was willing to go to "war" on the issue of expanding the H1-B visa program, Elon Musk is already trying to walk back his blanket support for the program. He is now claiming that the program needs to be amended so that only highly-skilled workers are allowed in, and he says that the companies that hire them must be required to pay them MORE than they pay American workers. In other words, only the super wealthy should be able to afford to hire foreign guest workers.
Donald Trump isn't trying to hide the fact that he wants to use his Department of Justice to go after his enemies, and he made a veiled threat against writer E. Jean Carroll on Truth Social over the weekend. Trump reposted a photo of Carroll that suggested that she lied about what happened to her and then asked whether or not this should warrant Carroll going to prison for her "false" accusations. Trump has already been found liable for defamation twice in court, meaning the court agreed with Carroll's accusations.
The MAGA civil war isn't going away any time soon. Now that Donald Trump has chosen a side (he came out in favor of the H1-B visa program and admitted that he's always used it), his supporters are accusing him of "selling them out." The MAGA faithfuls are not happy that Trump still wants to allow some people into the country, and they are letting him know it across social media. But he never sold them out - they just weren't paying attention for all these years.
