Written texts, journal articles, and printed books are not the only way we create and share knowledge in the Humanities. The process of research creation brings together multiple disciplines to explore a more comprehensive understanding of what it means to be human. This episode, we speak with artist and researcher Julie Gemuend, who shares how she is using research creation to explore what it means to be human in the Anthropocene age, including our physical vulnerabilities and responsibilities to other beings.

Julie is a PhD candidate in the Interdisciplinary Humanities program. She has an MFA from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and her work has been exhibited in Canada, the USA and internationally.

This conversation was originally recorded in the spring of 2022.
