Feminine spiritual power with Sister Maureen of the Brahma Kumaris
Manage episode 296358322 series 2895694
Who am I? Who do I belong to? And what is my purpose? These are the questions that Lynne’s guest Sister Maureen Goodman of the Brahma Kumaris discusses as she shares the lessons she has learnt from her years in the BKs, and of living a life of spiritual service where women take the leadership roles.
Originating in Hyderabad, Sindh, during the 1930s and founded by Lekhraj Kripalani, he had a vision of the world where people lived in love and in truth. He also believed that women must be brought forward as the spiritual leaders, and handed the leadership of this community to the women. At a time when girls were not given much, if any, education at all, this was a revolutionary act, both progressive and controversial.
The message Sister Maureen and the BKs spread is that we are all spiritual beings and our original nature is peace. Listen as she leads a meditation and if you are interested to learn more, please visit www.brahmakumaris.uk.
