On this week’s episode of the Friends in Beauty podcast I welcome Dr. Zuri Dale to the Friends in Beauty Podcast. Dr. Zuri is an Epidemiologist and the Owner of Artistry by Zuri. You’ve seen her on BET Plus’ “College Hill: Celebrity Edition” where she taught celebrities such as Big Slim and NeNe Leakes at TSU’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences where she is an instructor and campus epidemiologist.

She is the go-to in Houston for permanent brows. Dr. Zuri has been a life long lover of makeup. Zuri’s artistic eye coupled with attention to detail has allowed her to progress in the world of both traditional and semi-permanent. Zuri is an avid learner and holds a Bachelors degree in Biology from Texas Southern University and two Masters degrees from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Zuri is a licensed tattoo artist in the state of Texas and was awarded the PMU Women of Color Award for Best New Artist in 2019, SHEEO of the year in 2022, and the Best Speaker in Science of Permanent Makeup Award in 2022. She has been featured in Essence Magazine, AfroTech and Houston’s own 97 The Box.

During our chat we talked about the lack of inclusion in permanent makeup that led to the creation of PMUCon, merging your corporate & beauty industry experiences, building community, being a Makeup Artist versus a PMU Artist, and so much more.
